Over the winter one of the walls of the pinfold (located on the B6259 going out of Warcop towards Kirkby Stephen) has collapsed into the beck. This has left parts of the remaining walls unstable so the pinfold has been temporarily fenced off for safety reasons. A walling contractor has agreed to rebuild the collapsed and unstable walling over the summer after which the pinfold will be opened again to visitors. An information sign has been produced giving the background to the pinfold and explaining its origins.
